Accidents kill couple, put three in hospitals From Our Staff and Wire Services Two Barry County traffic accidents Sunday a Wheaton couple and left at least three persons hospitalized today. John W. Moeller, 57, and his wife, Marjorie Lee, 53, were fatally injured about 7 p.m. Sunday when their car collided with a pickup truck on Barry County near Purdy, the Missouri State Highway Patrol said.

Moeller apparently was attempting to pass another vehicle on a hill when the accident occurred, troopers reported. The driver of the pickup truck, Mark Lane Russell, 29, of Joplin, was reported in good condition today at St. John's Regional Medical Center in Joplin, Troopers said Russell suffered mouth, chest, rib, back and shoulder injuries. Another passenger in the Moeller, vehicle, Shirley Gale Clevenger, 35, Verona, was reported in satisfactory condition today at St. John's Regional Health Center in Spring.

He was a graduate of the University of Missouri. Campbell died at 1:25 a.m. Sunday in St. John's Regional Health Center after a long illness. A resident of Springfield since 1943, he was an employee of Dayco for 20 years. A native of Warrensburg, she had been a resident of the Willard area since was a retired schoolteacher and taught in Warrenburg, LaMonte, Willard and Springfield.

She retired from the Springfield School District after 41 years of service. She was a member of Willard First Baptist Church and the church's Women's Missionary Union and had worked as a lay missionary in Taiwan in 1983 and in Ecuador in 1984. She was a member of the Joy Group of First Baptist Church. A former owner of Kozy Korners Gift Shop, she was chairman of the Willard Bicentenniel Committee in 1976, on the board of directors of the Retirement Center and a member of the Willard Park Board. A graduate of Central Missouri State University, she was a member of Missouri State Retired Teachers and Beta Sigma Phi sorority.

She was the widow of Ray Edwards. Survivors include a nephew, Jim Whitfield, Chesterfield, and a niece, Shirley Coonrod, Warrensburg, who cared for her; a greatniece; great-nephew. will be from 7 to 8 p.m. today in the funeral home. Over the four years studied enrollment in foreign language rose 189 percent, science rose 132 percent and math percent. The family was evicted from their last home in January and now lives in a rented home that is in very poor condition. They have no money to pay rent of Case: The father of this family of four has lung cancer, that is controlled with medication and a severe heart condition.

The mother has chronic liver problems resulting in chronic hepatitis. She also has diabetes and Parkinson's disease. Both of their teen-age children have had a rare blood disease since birth. The father, 59, worked as long as his health permitted but finally was forced to quit his job by his employer. In to keep up with their medical and living expenses, the family has sold all its possessions of any value.

Their monthly income totals $650. Their rent is $325, and their utilities average $150 a month. When they pay their bills, nothing is left to buy food. They are behind on their utility bill. This man, who served four years in military service, is terminally ill with lung cancer.

He has had the disease for two years. His medical treatment and hospital stays have left him with a medical bill that is more than $40,000. He is not eligible for medical assistance and has no private insurance to help with the bills. His, present treatment costs $226 every six weeks. The man requires a liquid protein diet that he rarely can afford.

His utility bill now is $145.78. Case 4 This man and his wife take care of their 42-year-old daughter, who is disabled and unable to live on her own, They have trouble paying for medical bills. The father has been treated for throat cancer, mild diabetes, heart trouble, arteriosclerosis and colon problems. The mother has a duodenal ulcer and had three-fourths of her stomach removed. She has bad kidneys "and colon problems, has trouble maintaining proper weight, has teeth problems and needs glasses.

The husband's Social Security benefits were cut in 1983 and are tied up pending ruling on his appeal, but he receives Veterans Administration disability. They took a second mortgage on their home so they could pay bills, which makes their total house payment now $320 a month. Their monthly expenses exceed their income by $200. They have an outstanding utility bill of $435.02 they cannot pay. Case 5 This mother and her four children were evicted because the husband, who recently abandoned the family, had failed to give the landlord rent for three months but kept the money for himself.

The mother has found temporary housing, but her new landlord has given her two weeks to make a rent payment of $250. Their home has no source of heat except for the kitchen stove. The mother has had to postpone surgery because she has no one to care for her children. Her 16-month-old child barely has sufficient clothing. The mother has an outstanding utility bill of $386.97 from the old address.

'Mink' Terry, 58 MARSHFIELD Services for Russell E. "Mink" Terry, 58, Fredericktown, will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday in Barber-Edwards-Arthur Chapel with the Rev. J.W. O'Neal officiating.

Burial will be in Good Spring Cemetery near Niangua. Mr. Terry died at 3:30 p.m. Saturday in Madison Memorial Hospital, Fredericktown, after a long illness. He was a Webster County native and a Navy veteran of World War II.
