People killed in ultralight casualties in the Ozarks include: Richard Dale Sederburg, then 29, of Springfield, killed Oct. 7, 1982, after a support wire from a wing to the front of the fuselage of his ultralight failed a few minutes after takeoff from Air Park South, between Springfield and Ozark. William Schulz, 41, of the St. Louis suburb, of Ferguson, killed April 28. 1983, when his ultralight's right wing struck a tree after evidently overshooting a field in western Shannon County.

The ultralight crashed upside down onto a highway. Ronald Maxwell, 32, owner of a Carthage muffler shop, killed Aug. 25, 1983, when the right wing of his ultralight failed shortly after takeoff from a field owned by his parents. Peopte injured in ultralight accidents in the Ozarks include: Jackie Ott, then 40, a probation officer with the Missouri Division of Probation and Parole at Springfield, injured Aug. 7, 1981, when his ultralight evidently encountered a wind shear on takeoff at Air Park South and crashed on the runway.

Ron Allen, then 37, Ozark, injured Nov. 8, 1982, when his ultralight got tangled in a power line and crashed about dusk in a farm field two miles, northeast of Air Park South. (Allen subsequently died Aug. 5, 1983, but authorities said his death was not a result of the crash injuries.) David Parker, then co-owner of Stratos Flight, an ultralight dealer at Ozark, injured Sept. 9, 1983, when his ultralight struck a large oak tree while approaching a private landing field east of Ozark.
