Julia Rebekah Lodge 72 will meet at 7:30 p.m. at East Commercial, with Mrs. Barbara Green, noble grand, presiding. TUESDAY Parkerest Garden Club will meet at 7:30 at the home of Mrs. William Mais, 834 LaSalle, with Mrs.

Frances Wachter as co-hostess. Mrs. Everett Brenner will give program on ideas for planting a vegetable garden. Pilot Club's dinner and business meeting will be at 6:15 p.m. at Holiday Inn.

Sisterhood of United Hebrew Congregation will have lunch and business meeting at noon at the community center, Kickapoo and Belmont. Dwindling Daisies chapter of TOPS will meet at the Boys' Club, 1300 Boonville, at 9:30 a.m. Members are to bring calorie counts and low calorie food for the basket. WEDNESDAY Past Matron's club, Crescent chapter OES, will have a noon covered dish luncheon at the home of Mrs. Olaf Chapman, 1122 South Pickwick.

Members are to bring vegetable, salad or dessert, and service. Soroptimists will hear a speech by Mrs. Adelaide Jones, director of adult education at Drury College, on the topic of Education for Women," at noon at Colonial Hotel. Officers will be elected and installed. Springfield Ozarks chapter of AARP will have dinner at 5:30 at Glenstone Heritage. Lambda Chi Alpha Mothers' Club will meet at 7:30 p.m. at the fraternity house, 1027 North Benton. Pink Dogwood Garden Club will have a founders' day luncheon 12:30 at Kentwood Arms.

Mrs. Hartwell Stahl and Mrs. Ed Fellin are in charge. Hillerest, Garden Club will "Youth in Music" Theme for Sorosis The general meeting of So-1 rosis, MFWC, will be held tomorrow at 1:30 p.m., at the clubhouse, 838 East Walnut, when the Music department will act as hostess. Mrs.

Ermil Frye will be at the piano as members and guests are greeted by Mrs. Harlie Gleason, president of Sorosis, and Mrs. E. M. Edmonson, chairman of the Music department.

Others in the receiving line will include Mesdames Elmer Wilhelm, C. 0. Sperry, Arnold Winfrey and Paul Nevatt. A social bour will open events of the day. Mrs.

Gleason and Mrs. Edmonson will pour. Assorted, miniature, nut bread sandwiches, tea and coffee will be the featured menu for the day. All arrangements of the social hour are under the direction of Mrs. Forrest Moore, Assisting Mrs.

Moore will be Mrs. James Lindhurst, Mrs. C. C. Williford and Mrs.

Paul Nevatt. A St. Patrick theme along Kathie Kinser Is Sweetheart Of ASA Sorority The annual Sweetheart formal of Beta Sigma chapter of Alpha Sigma. Alpha sorority took place Saturday night. The evening included a reception at the sorority house, 704 South Florence, at 5:30 p.m., dinner at 7 at the Lamplighter.

Hotel, and a dance following. Highlight of the evening was the crowning of Miss Kathie Kinser, a senior from Nixa, as Alpha Sigma Alpha sweetheart. The honor of ideal pledge was awarded to Winnie Wylie, freshman from St. Louis, while the Alpha Sigma Alpha scholarship award was received by Sandy Shultz, Springfield. Stuckey of Bolivar and the late Wanda Stuckey, and Larry James Schreiner, son of Mr. and Mrs. L. F. Schreiner, also of Bolivar, were married Saturday afternoon, March 2, in a 2 o'clock ceremony in the home of the bride's father.

The pronounced Rev. the Melvin Williamson vows in a setting of white gladioli and red roses. Given in marriage by her father, the bride was attired in a gown of white satin fashioned with an Empire bodice enriched with Chantilly lace and styled with a scooped neckline and long sleeves. The A-line skirt of floor-length was accented with a detachable train of the same lace over satin. The bride's fingertip veil of illusion cascaded from pearl-edged silk petals with crystal stamens.

She carried an elongated arrangement of roses surrounding a white orchid atop a white Bible. The bride's only attendant was Miss Doris Stuckey. The maid of honor wore a mint green dress of brocade designed with a scooped neckline and natural waistline. Her headpiece was self fabric Dior bow, and she carried a single red rose with mint streamers of satin. Richard A.

Jenkins served as best man. Miss Linda Yeargain presided at the guest book. The bridegroom's mother selected a two-piece dress of turquoise blue accessorized in black: Her corsage was of red roses. The couple received wedding guests following the ceremony. The bride's table was covered with white linen overlaid with mint green net, and featured a three-tiered white wedding cake illumined by four white tapers in crystal holders.

Red roses and foliage garlanded the crystal punch bowl. Assisting at the reception was Mrs. Carolyn Jenkins. For traveling, the bride selected knit dress fashioned with belled sleeves. Her accessories were black and she wore the white corsage from the bridal bouquet.

Following a short wedding trip, the couple will be at home in Wichita, Kan. Children's Drama Classes Offered ive Dramatics will be offered at An eight week course in Creatthe Springfield Art Museum for children in the third through the sixth grades. The classes, which will begin Tuesday, March 12, and run through Tuesday, May 14, will meet from 4:15 to 5 p.m. The creative drama class will be taught by Mrs. Sharon Ellis.

The bride-elect is a student at Southwest Missouri State College, where she is president of Kappa Omicron Phi honorary, and state president of Missouri Home Economics Association, college chapter section.

Mr. Corn also is enrolled at SMS, where he is president of Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia honorary. He is employed as director of Westport Youth Center. The wedding will be a June event. Jacqueline Green Green-Neher Mrs.

Elsie E. Green, Oakland Star Route, Lebanon, announces engagement of her granddaughter, Jacqueline Lynn Green, to Gary L. Neher, son of Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Neher, Falcon.

Miss Green is a senior at Lebanon High School. Mr. Neher, graduate of Lebanon High School, is presently employed with Chevrolet in St. Louis. Wedding plans are for June.

Volunteers Plan Luncheon Meet Red Cross volunteers will meet Wednesday, March 6, at 11:45 a.m., for a no-hostess luncheon at the Heritage Cafeteria on Sunshine, according to Mrs. John Seanor Abbott, chairman of Office of Volunteers for Greene County Red Cross Chapter. Purpose of the meeting is to get acquainted with the new class of volunteers who recently completed Red Cross training. These volunteers will soon be assigned to new Red Cross programs being initiated at the Springfield General Osteopathic Hospital, United Cerebral Palsy Center, Springfield Regional Diagnostic Clinic for Mental Retardation, and already existing programs at the Springfield Regional Red Cross Blood Center and the Chapter office. Volunteers attending the new training session were: Mesdames Andrew Bacon, Reed Smith, Lewis King, Richard Kolb, Lawrence Linderer, Ronald Stith, William Matija, Bill Reser, Ted Waring, Fred Thomsen; Mesdames Milton Phillips, Pauline Huffman, Wilma Harrell, Dora Estes, Sue Brown, W.

Telephone Talk For Credit Group Springfield chapter of Credit Women International held a regular monthly dinner meeting Tuesday evening at Napolitano's Italian Gardens. Miss Beverly Reid, who recently replaced past president Miss Linda Bradley, conducted the business meeting, and reports were given from standing committees. The guest speaker, Mrs. Louis Cox, Southwestern Bell Telephone Company, was introduced by the president. Her topic was "You and Your Telephone." Table decorations consisted of individual miniature telephones, Guests for the evening were: Mrs.

Mr. Smith also was graduated from Hillcrest and is now employed at Royal Typewriter Company, Inc. Wedding plans are for April 12, at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Smith.

Kendrick, 1656 North Hayes. Single ring vows were solemnized at 3 o'clock, Saturday, March 2, at General Baptist Church, by the Rev. Russell Sanders. Attending the couple were Miss Kathleen Gold and Gene Myer. The newlyweds will be at home at 2220 North National.

PTA Notes The Springfield City PTA Council will meet Monday morning at Fremont School, 2814 North Fremont, promptly at 9:30 a.m. The PTA department of health has invited a member of the Mark Twain NaItional Forest staff who will summarize the physical and mental benefits to be derived from recreation. Local unit presidents are reminded to bring their recreation chairmen, There will be election of for the 1968-69 school year, and approval of the changes in bylaws. Bois D'Are PTA will meet at 7:30 p.m. Monday for a business session, program, and refreshments.

Walnut Grove PTA will meet Tuesday third and fourth grade mothers, will serve. Officers will be elected. Preparations are now underway for the father son banquet March at 7 p.m., sponsored by the Athletlie Club. Ellison-Compton Mr. and Mrs.

Woodrow Ellison, Marionville, announce the engagement of their daughter, Glenda Sue, to Charles Anthony Compton, son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles H. Compton, Crane. Miss Ellison was graduated from Marionville High School and attended Southwest Missouri State College.

William Larry Porter Harmony Baptist Church was the scene Friday, March 1, at 7:30 o'clock in the evening for the wedding of Miss Brenda Lee Fielden and William Larry Porter. Parents of the couple are Mr. and Mrs. Bill Fielden of Route 2, Rogersville, and Mr. and Mrs.

Leo R. Porter, Route 1, Rogersville. The double ring ceremony was conducted by the Rev. Howard Blevins at a setting of white gladioli and snapdragons flanked by fifteen-branched spiral candelabra. An arch candelabrum was placed in the center of the altar before a brass kneeling bench.

Tapers enhanced by jade foliage and white carnations secured with yellow ribbon designated family pews. Fielden, Candles were brother of lighted the by J. bride, D. and Mark Bookout. Mrs.

Ronnie Frazier offered appropriate selections at the organ preceding the ceremony and accompanied Steve Samuels as he sang and "Whither Thou Goest." Escorted and given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a formal gown of Chantilly lace designed with fitted bodice. Scallops outlined the beaded Sabrina neckline and long sleeves tapered to points over the hands. Her full bouffant skirt featured tiers of lace ruffles at the sides, while a panel at back extended into a chapellength train. Her floor-length mantilla veil was attached to a cluster of seed pearls and crystals, and she carried miniature carnations cascading from a white Bible, a gift of the YWA, topped by a white orchid. Matron of honor, Mrs.

Frank Chaffin, wore a formal gown of willow green linen styled with Empire lines, rounded neckline and a single box pleat trimmed in lace. She had an open pillbox hat of matching hue and carried a colonial bouquet of white carnations centered with yellow roses. Miss Louise Gray, Miss Paulette Hale and Miss Linda Porter, of the bridegroom, were bridesmaids. Each wore a gown yellow linen, denoting Empire styling. Their headpieces were similar to that of the matron of honor, excepting color, as were their bouquets.

Best man was David Kensinger and groomsmen were Gary Humble, Jimmy Watts and Steve Boyd. Flowers were dropped from white wicker baskets by Pammy and Shelia Porter, nieces of the bridegroom. Their dresses were willow green and each had a band of daisies in her hair. A matching dress and coat of navy blue and white with blending accessories was the choice of the bride's mother for her daughter's wedding. The mother of the bridegroom wore a twopiece double knit blue suit.

Both had white orchid corsages. Guests were received in the church fellowship hall following the ceremony. Imported linen covered the bride's table which was centered by a nine-branched candelabra entwined with yellow snapdragons and white carnations. A four wedding cake wash placed at one end, meet at 1:30 at the home at Charles Wise, 1017 North Benton. Program topic will be a garden that may be planted in shade.

Pleiades Shrine number 1, Order of White Shrine of Jerusalem, will hold a stated meeting in the Masonic temple, East Walnut, at 7:30 p.m. Offcers will be elected, and annual reports will be made. King's guards will be hosts. FRIDAY American department of Sororsis, MFWC, will have a covered dish luncheon and silent auction at 12:30 at the clubhouse. while punch was served from a crystal bowl at the opposite end.

Assistants were Miss Linda Bolding, Miss Joyce DeWitt, Miss Connie Wood and Mrs. Larry Dennis. Coffee was served from a silver service at a separate table by Miss Patricia Calvin. Mrs. Jerry Porter and Miss Ella Mae Woods presided at the guest book.

As the couple departed for a brief wedding trip the new Mrs. Porter was wearing an off-white linen dress with orange and white plaid jacket and orange accessories. The newlyweds will be at home on Route 3, Rogersville. Costume Party Held Saturday By Tri Sigmas Cardboard flowers and pinwheels with Sigma Sigma Sigma inscribed in multi-colors decorated the Southwest Missouri State College Student Union Ballroom Saturday night when the sorority entertained with a regression party. A hippy theme, "Sigma LoveIn" was carried out in additional decorations, and members of sorority and their dates there dressed as great lovers in history.

Hours for the dance were 7:30 until 11:30, and a skit was presented at 8:30 by the pledges. Chaperons for the event were Mr. and Mrs. Ed W. Robinson, and Mrs.

Pauline Payne. Dr. Erwin Manti was a special guest. PBX Club Tours Answer Service The PBX Club of Springfield held its regular February meetling as guests of the Professional Answering Service, 1342 South Glenstone.

After a short business meeting, Bill Peck gave a talk on the operations of the Answering Service. A tour of facilities was made. Warren Wade are here for a 30-day visit prior to Mr. Wade's departure to serve in Vietnam. Mrs. Wade (Rinnie Hunt) will remain with her parents, Mr. and Mrs.

Jesse Hunt until his return. ABWA Chapter Benefit Show The Heart of the Ozarks chapter of the American Business Women's Association will give benefit style show Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. in the Ambassador Room of the Holiday Inn for the scholarship fund. The organization, which has three chapters in Springfield, provides scholarships for young women who wish to attain an education in the school of their choice. Miss Mary Pat Collins, Southwest Missouri State College is the present recipient of the scholarship in this chapter.

The ways and means committee includes Mrs. Harold Braughton, chairman; Mrs. Nola Poole, Mrs. Stella Visio, Miss. Reba Hargus and Bernice Medley, Commentator for this event will be Mrs.

Lloyd Rugh and music will be provided by Mrs. Tom Alberti. Clothing will be shown by Rubenstein's and modeled by the following: Mesdames W. Clopton, Glen A. Harwell, Lee Whitehair, Dorothy Pendergraft and Emily Scott; Martha Judd, Donna Moore, Rosena Green, Norma Jean Green and Donna Moore; and Miss Collins.
