Friday, February 8, 2008 NEWS-LEADER FUNERAL NOTICES Ansel Gordon Ellison Ansel G. Ellison, 92, of Springfield, passed on to his heavenly home Monday, February 4, 2008, at Christian Health Care West. Ansel was born December 14, 1915, to Sherman and Artie Ellison in Ava, Missouri. He graduated from Ava High School and attended Draughn's Business College in Springfield. He met and married LaVerne Robertson, his wife and partner of 68 years, on June 25, 1939.

He devoted most of his professional career to B.F. Goodrich as a traveling shoe salesman. He also enjoyed farming in his retirement years. Ansel was a longtime member of Second Baptist Church. He loved Sunday school class and served as an usher in the church for many years.

He was a longtime member of the Masonic Lodge. He dedicated his life to serving the Lord and taking care of his family. He was a loving husband and the best father anyone could ask for. He was always there for his family when they needed encouragement. He gave love freely to all of his family and friends.

Ansel loved people and never met a stranger, always valuing their friendship. He was so special to so many people. His family and friends will never forget their fondest memories of his love, kindness and warmth. He will be forever in our hearts. Ansel is survived by his wife, LaVerne; two sons, Richard of Springfield and Ronald of Overland Park, Kansas; daughter-in-law Laurie; three grandchildren, Samantha and Andrew "Bo" of Overland Park, Kansas, and Jeff of Jefferson City, Missouri; sister Naomi Haynes of Lancaster, Virginia; niece Judy Roper of Lancaster, Virginia; nephew Jim Haynes of Mt.

Vernon, Missouri; and cousins, J.G. Heinlein of Ava, Missouri, and Norma Ilene Mauldin of Springfield, Missouri. There will be a visitation at 1 p.m. Saturday, February 9, 2008, at Gorman-Scharpf Funeral Home, 1947 E. Seminole, Springfield, Missouri 65804.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Burial will follow in Rivermonte Cemetery, 4500 S. Lone Pine, Springfield, Missouri. The family would like to express their deepest appreciation to Anna, Crystal, Twyla and the other health care workers of C-Wing at Christian Health Care West and the Regional Hospice team. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Second Baptist Church, Alzheimer's Association or Southwest Missouri or Regional Hospice.

To fax information, please the following day's publication. Ethel Mae Hendrick Ethel Mae Hendrick, 82, Springfield, passed away February 6, 2008, in her home. She was born November 11, 1925, in St.

Louis, Mo. Ethel was a 1943 graduate of Maplewood- Richmond Heights High School in Maplewood, Mo. She was a homemaker and bookkeeper for Hendrick Diesel Service and Diesel Exchange, where she retired in August 2005 at the age of 79, after 53 years of service. Ethel was saved and baptized at the age of 17 at the Maplewood Baptist Church, Maplewood, Mo. She was a member of the Maplewood Baptist Church and Christian and Missionary Alliance Church.

Ethel was a wonderful cook and homemaker. She loved spending time with her family. She was loved and respected by all that met her. On November 28, 1945, she was united in marriage to Robert W. Hendrick in Maplewood, Mo.

He preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her parents, Irvin Stricker and Mildred Bridwell and son-in-law Paul Sweeton. Ethel is survived by her children, Marilyn Sweeton, Susan and Bill Smith, Robert L. and Sheryl Hendrick, Judy and Vic Hartley, and Steve and Lisa Hendrick; grandchildren, Shannon Hendrick, Kimberly Terrell, Lisa LeMonnier, Greg Sweeton, Jeffrey Smith, Carrie Galvan, Julie Vaughan, Erika Haley, Bryan Jacoby, Shandrea Jacoby, April Blake, Kelly Hartley, Craig Hendrick, Matthew Hendrick and Shelby Hendrick; 15 great-grandchildren; brothers, Homer and wife, Jean Stricker, and Melvin Stricker; sister Marilyn and Skip Hart; sister-in-law Leta Hendrick; and many other family and friends. Funeral service will be 10 a.m.

Saturday, February 9, 2008, at Greenlawn East Funeral Home, with burial following in Holland Cemetery, Hwy 125, Rogersville. Florence Keith, 85, Springfield, died at 4:15 p.m. Wednesday, February 6, 2008, in Christian Health Care West, Springfield. She was born November 6, 1922, in Yellville, Arkansas, the daughter of Felix and Plina Elizabeth Jones. She was united in marriage to Virgil Keith on September 27, 1941. Mrs.

Keith was a member of a Non-Denominational Church, a homemaker, and an in -home caregiver. Her husband, Virgil; an infant daughter, Flonnie Sue; a son, Kenneth Dale; and her parents, preceded her in death. She is survived by two sons, Roger Keith, Florence, Oregon, and Richard Keith, Martinez, California; a grandson, Lucas Mathis, Plano, Texas; other relatives and many friends. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, February 9, 2008, at Meadors Funeral Home, Republic, with Robert Eberhardt officiating.

Burial will follow in the Garoutte Cemetery, Republic. Visitation will be from 12 noon fo 1 p.m., prior to the service, in the funeral home. Ava Nauman February 8, 2007 Memories of a loving Mom, Wife and Grandmother Dorothy Lonesky Dorothy Lonesky, Springfield, was born Nov. 28, 1921, and passed away Feb. 6, 2008. She retired from Lily Tulip. Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Lonesky; sister Lucille McCoy; and brother Orville Latham.

She is survived by daughter Patricia Benjamin; son Tom Lonesky and wife, Beverly; three grandchildren, Amy Vaini, Melodie Benjamin and Ardella Lounsbury and her husband, Ken; greatgrandchildren, Stacey Lane and Chris Benjamin, and Ashlen and Kaitlen Lounsbury; one greatgreat Wyatt Lane; and her beloved cat, Sweetie. Graveside service will be 11 a.m. Feb. 11, 2008, at National Cemetery on Seminole. Visitation is 5 to 7 p.m.

Feb. 10, 2008, at Greenlawn East. Greenlawn Charles "Chuck" Lee Harrison was born on October 12, 1960, in Pawhuska, Oklahoma, to George and Doris Harrison, and the Lord unexpectedly took him home on Wednesday eve-, ning, February 6, 2008, at Cox South Hospital. He grew, up in Barnsdall, Oklahoma, where he graduated with his high school class of 1978. He attended college at NEO in Miami, Oklahoma, and earned an associate's degree in industrial arts in 1980.

After that he attended one year at Southwest Baptist University in Bolivar, Missouri, where he met his wife, Sherri Deskin. They were married on August 15, 1981, in Springfield, Missouri. After living in Barnsdall, Oklahoma, and Joplin, Missouri, they made their home in Springfield, Missouri, in 1987. At the time of his death, Chuck was the CEO of Deskin Scale Company. He was an active member and deacon of Jefferson Avenue Baptist Church.

Chuck is survived by: Sherri, his wife of 26 years; two daughters, Kristen McCabe and husband, Adam, of Springfield, Missouri, and Kayla Hunter and husband, Travis, of Branson, Missouri; two sons, Jacob Harrison of the home and Joshua Harrison of the home; one grandson, Nickolas McCabe; his parents, George and Doris Harrison of Bartlesville, Oklahoma; and two brothers, Dennis Harrison and wife, Ladona, of Skiatook, Oklahoma, and Paul Harrison of Tulsa, Oklahoma. Also surviving are his mother-in-law and father Lee and Betty Deskin of Springfield, Missouri; and sisters-in-law, Pam Wyant, Cindy Deskin and Debbie Gregory, all of Springfield, Missouri. Chuck is also survived by three nieces, Jenni, Heather, Kendl and their husbands, Josh, Tommy and James; two great-nieces, Rylie and Karley; as well as many other dear family and friends. Chuck had many loves including spending time with his family and friends, golfing, always cracking corny jokes, helping his church family at Jefferson Avenue, playing with his grandson, Nick, and most of all serving the Lord Jesus Christ joyfully in all that he did. He will be missed by all who knew him.

Visitation will be today, February 8, 2008, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Gorman-Scharpf Funeral Home, 1947 East Seminole, Springfield, MO 65804. Funeral services will be Saturday, February 9, 2008, at 10 a.m. at Jefferson Avenue Baptist Church, 316 East Sunshine, Springfield, MO 65807. Burial will follow in Maple Park Cemetery, 300 West Grand, Springfield, MO 65807.

William Cornog William Edward "Bill" Cornog age 59, of Nixa, Missouri, went to his eternal home on Tuesday, February 5, 2008. He was born August 1, 1948, in Miami, Oklahoma, to William Edward Cornog Sr. and Betty June (Cosby) Cornog. William was a 1966 graduate of Miami High School. He was currently a driver for TDC.

He was with B.N.R.R. for many years. He was also a member of the Masonic Lodge, Gate of the Temple in Springfield. William was united in marriage to Cynthia Arveda (Palmer) on December 14, 1996, who survives him. Also surviving are nine children and their spouses, DeLayne and Joe Vasterling, Amy and Darrin Hall, Darren and Millie Cornog, Christy Smith, Caren and Garrett Gerhauser, Cheyanne Rick Carter, Zack and Kelly Cornog, Jordan Cornog and Kaisha Cornog; 18 grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; two brothers and their wives, Trevis and Kathy Cornog, and Don Hildebrand and wife; a sister, Sheryl Bolton and husband, Gordon; his mother-in-law, Alma Palmer; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Sandy Looney, Sheryl and Doug Lathem, Rose and Don Fredrick, and Melody and Ron Stout; and a host of other family members and friends.

William was preceded in death by his parents; his son, Brian; his brother, Kevin; and his father-inlaw, Roscoe Palmer. Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, February 9, in Adams Funeral Home, Nixa, Missouri, with Joel Santti officiating. Burial will follow in Payne Cemetery, Nixa. He was born October 14, 1916, to William Ray and Celia Lloyd Campbell, who preceded him in death. Bill was a veteran of World War 11, serving in the European Theater and was at the Liberation of Rome.

He was also in the audience when Churchill gave his "Iron Curtain" speech in Fulton, in 1946. Bill married Dorothy Schreen on May 29, 1949, and the began their married life as farmers. They moved to Barry County where Bill became a surveyor. When he retired, he had worked for Child Welfare Services as a supervisor for several years. Bill enjoyed fishing and camping with his family and spending time outdoors.

He loved animals and had an avid interest in Indian lore. Bill is survived by his wife, Dorothy; son Frank Campbell and wife, Alene of Cassville; daughters, Nancy Locke and husband, Ed of Golden and Susan Goertz and husband, Jeff of Liberty; five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be held Saturday, February 9, 2008, at 11 a.m. in Ash Grove First Christian Church in Ash Grove, Mo. He went to high school at St. Johnsbury Academy in St. Johnsbury, Vermont. He graduated with a B.S. in civil engineering from Worcester Poly Technical Institute in Worcester, Massachusetts.

Nic served in the U.S. Navy from 1944 to 1946. In 1948 he married Eleanor Foley in Mt. Vernon, New York. Nic and Eleanor moved to Salt Lake City, Utah, where they raised five children.

Nic owned and operated Western Road Machinery' Company, and served as President of the national trade association, Associated Equipment Distributors (AED). Nic and Eleanor moved to Springfield, Missouri, when he retired in 1998. He is predeceased by his parents, Nicholas and Viola Economou, and his four brothers, Arthur, John, Mike and Fred. He is survived by Eleanor and his children and their spouses, Lynn and John Walters, Trish and James Saccomano, Gail and Eric Gudell, Ellen and Bob Rohr and Jim Economou. His surviving grandchildren and their spouses are Becky and Jason Elia, Christian and Monique Frech, Patrick Walker, Max Rohr, Rachel Economou, Kelly Gudell and Jackson Economou.

He is also survived by his sisterin-law, Bette Anne Foley. He was "Uncle Nic" to cousins John and Janet De Vito and Anthony and Dineen De Vito and children Nicholas DeVito, Jaime and Ryan Riley, Kyle DeVito, Jordan DeVito, Tyler De Vito and Sheridan DeVito. Papu, we'll miss your laugh, your sense of humor and your help in the garden. Your golfing buddies are happy to see you! L. Raymond Johnson Raymond Johnson was born in Elkhead, on May 23, 1916, to Andrew Thomas and Mary Anna Mae (Braden) Johnson.

He passed away February 6, 2008, in Springfield. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him. He was united in marriage to Martha Jane Davenport on March 18, 1937, and to this union four children were born. He was a wonderful husband, father and grandfather. He was preceded in death by his parents as well as his wife, Jane, who died July 26, 2006.

Survivors include a son, Lloyd Edward Johnson and wife, Joyce, of Ava; daughters, Sue Swearengin of Overland Park, Linda Johnson of Covington, and Becky McBride of Springfield; seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; a sister, Hazel Whitted; and numerous other loving relatives and a host of friends. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, February 9, 2008, at 11 a.m. in the Klingner-Cope Family Funeral Home Chapel at Rivermonte, 4500 S. Lone Pine, Springfield. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service beginning at 10 a.m.

Interment will follow the service in the Dogwood Cemetery in Douglas County, Mo. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to James River Care Center, 3550 E. Battlefield, Springfield, MO 65809.
