Yvonne Ruth Hawkins NIXA Yvonne Ruth Hawkins, 87, Nixa, passed away Tuesday, October 16, 2001, in Doctor's Hospital, Springfield. She was bom Sept. 8, 1914 In Nixa, the daughter of Lenzy William Patton and Eliza Jane Viles Patton. She was a charter member of Calvary Bible Church, Nixa. Glenn attended school In Liberal, Mo. and Draughons Business College In Springfield. Glenn was in the feed business In Springfield and Pittsburgh, prior to retiring in 1960. His last feed business was Central Feed Company, a retail and wholesale feed business located In Springfield, Mo. A bom businessman and salesman, Glenn found retirement boring and with his son-in-law.

Bill Lowe, started a new business. West Plains Veterinary Supply, selling veterinary products to retail outlets and veterinarians. Glenn had a life long love with ham radio, building many of his transmitters. With these transmitters he was able to talk by Morse code and voice with ham radio operators from all over the world. During the late 40's a severe ice storm hit Springfield bringing down most of the power lines.

From his ham shack, with the assistance of a portable power generator, Glenn acted as a dispatch station for the Frisco Railroad enabling the railroad to keep their trains moving and on schedule. During the 1950's and 60's, Glenn, Karl his brother (also a ham radio operator) with Harry Reed operated Teleradio, a retail and wholesale died at 11:40 p.m. Tuesday in Skaggs Community Health Center. Memorial services will be at 3 p.m. Monday in Forsyth Whelchel Chapel, with burial at a later date in Crestview Memorial Park, Hot Springs, Ark.

Albert C. Gentry, 80 CASSVTLLE Mr. Albert C. Gentry, Cassville, a retired automobile mechanic, died Thursday in Cox-Monett Hospital. Services will be at 2 p.m.

Wednesday, October 17, 2001, in the Mt. Vernon Place Care Center. Mrs. Teague was born In Flat Creek, Barry County, Mo. on November 12, 1901 to Joel Oscar Ellis and Francis Emmal-ine Williams Ellis.

Lurla was an avid reader, conversationalist who actively passed on her heritage to family. She was a conversant on worldly affairs and kept abreast of current affairs. She wrote articles for Cappers Weekly Newspaper of Topeka, Kan. for several years. She was a devout Christian and a long time member of the Pres l- The Monday Obituaries Anne T.

Bennett REPUBLIC Anne T. Bennett, 69, Republic, died at 3:20 p.m. Tuesday, October 16, 2001, In Cox Medical Center South. She was born January 18, 1932 in Springfield, the daughter of Roscoe P. and Lucile (Turner) Hood.

Anne was a graduate of Republic High School and firaduated from St. John's chool of Nursing in 1953. She married Gene Bennett October 4, 1953 and left her nursing career in 1955 to raise the three daughters born to this union. Anne was an avid antique collector and was owner and operator of the former Olden Days Antiques in Republic. She was an active member of the Republic First Christian Church.

Her parents and a daughter, Leah Butler, preceded her in death. She Is survived by her husband, Gene; two daughters, Lyn Carter of Springfield and Louann Glddens and her husband, Ernie of Republic; 5 grandchildren, Allison, Jessica, Rhlannon, Ben and Dani. A memorial service will be at 4 p.m. today, October 19, 2001. in the First Christian Church, Republic, with Rev.

Curtis Lee Blankenship Curtis Lee Blankenship departed this life October 17, 2001, in Cox Medical Center South. He was bom March 22, 1920 in Aldrich, the son of Leslie Lee and Jessie Marie (Acuff) Blankenship. He was a Sergeant in the U.S. Army during World War II, serving in the North Africa campaign, Tunisia, and Europe. He was awarded 2 Bronze service stars.

Curtis worked as a carpenter and farmer before his retirement and enjoyed woodworking. He was of the Christian faith. He graduated Aldrich High School with the byterian Church of Mt. Vernon, Mo. She married Lenard Teague on June 11, 1921.

He preceded her In death on February 6, 1975. To this union four children were bom. Survivors include three daughters, Helen Caul of LaC-ross. Wise, Mildred Little of Springfield, Mo. and June Hicks of Mt.

Vernon; one son, James Lenard Teague of Springfield; fifteen grandchildren, one deceased; 26 greatgrandchildren, one deceased; seven great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was also preceded In death by her parents; four brothers, Merle, James, Gerald and Frank; and one sister, Pearl Teague. Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, October 20, 2001, In Fossett-Mosher Funeral Home, Mt. Vernon.

Glenn was bom August 26, 1906 In Liberal, the first child of the union of Caleb Luther Upscomb and Anna Rudi-salle. Glenn was preceded In death by his first wife, Dorothy Carol Herman Lipscomb; his parents, Luther and Anna Lipscomb; and his younger broth.
