for the following day's publication. Ruth (Canaday) Warren Ruth and her twin sister, Ruby, were born on December 16, 1921," to William and Grace (Haid) Thompson. Ruth was born into Eternal Life on September 5, 2009. Ruth was married to Paul D. Canaday in 1942, and was later married to Blonde Warren.

Ruth was the loving mother of Stephen Paul Canaday and Connie Canaday- Ruth was the cherished grandmother of Holly Canaday and Jason Vaught; great-grandmother to Stevie and Harrison; and giving aunt to her nieces and nephews. She leaves behind many dear friends, relatives and loving supporters, especially Phyllis Miller, her daughter, Susan, and all of the extended Thompson and Warren Families. Ruth was preceded in death by her first husband, Paul D. Canaday; her second husband, Blonde Warren; her son, Stephen Paul Canaday and his wife, Terri; her twin sister, Ruby Thompson; brothers, Paul and Bill Thompson; and her sister, Clara Martin. Ruth is survived by her beloved sister, Helen Peacher; daughter Connie Ripley and her husband, Jack; granddaughter Holly Canaday and her daughter, Stevie; and grandson Jason Vaught and his wife, Ann and their son, Harrison.

Ruth brought joy and love to all she knew and she never met a stranger. She was an inspiration to those around her and a true kindred spirit. Her goal was to live her life so that when she died no one would have a bad thing to say about accomplished that goal. Visitation will be Tuesday, from 4 to 6 p.m., in Greenlawn Funeral Home South. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m.

Wednesday, i in Eastlawn Cemetery. Greenlawn Betty Ann Kallberg Betty Kallberg, 90, of Springfield, passed away on Saturday, Septembr 5, 2009, in Maranatha Village. She was born in Superior, the daughter of the late Lawrence and Myrtle Wahlquist Casadont. After high school, she went to Duluth, and worked as an office manager for Northwest Radio for 20 years. She was united in marriage to Philip Kallberg of Sunnyvale, on June 27, 1959.

Following her marriage, she lived in California and worked as a church secretary. In 1978, after her retirement, she and her husband went to South Africa and spent several years as missionary assistants with the Assembly of God church in Johannesburg. Betty was an articulate woman who enioyed reading and writing. She had several articles published in Christian Magazines. She was an excellent cook and seamstress.

She became a Christian at an early age and devoutly lived her faith daily. She was preceded in death by her spouse, three sisters, one brother and one step-daughter. Betty is survived by step-daughters, Holly KalIberg and Gayle Walker; one step-son, Terrance P. Kallberg; one sister, Catheryn Tuttle; one brother, Ronald Casadont; and six grandchildren. There will be no memorial service.

KLINGNER-COPE Family Funeral Home Daniel William Bettlach Daniel William Bettlach of Springfield, joined his father in heaven Sunday evening. At age 46, Dan ended his courageous battle with cancer on September 6, 2009. Dan was born October 19, 1962, to Jerry and Barbara Bettlach. A trusted friend, father, brother, son and family member, he will be greatly missed by all.

Dan worked in his family's business, Harter House, and he enjoyed boating and just being with friends and family. He will always be remembered for his very generous and giving heart. We will sorely miss Dan's smile and fun spirit. He was preceded in death by his father, Jerry Bettlach. He is survived by exwives, Shelly Bettlach and Annie Bettlach and their children, Sean Bettlach, Jeni McGrath, Nick Bettlach and Valerie Bettlach; and granddaughter Haili Schubert.

He is also survived by his mother, Barbara Bettlach; maternal grandmother, Hildred Adler; siblings, Michele Kauffman and husband, Craig, Jerry "Butch" Bettlach and wife, Lisa, Kathy Richards and husband, Randy, and brother Mike Bettlach. He is also survived by long time friend, Nola Esselman; as well as seven aunts and uncles, 21 first cousins and 12 nieces and nephews. As a small child, he and his older brother, Herschel, moved to the lake area. His first job on the lake was a fishing guide at the age of eight. He loved fishing with friends and family. In 1947, Kenny graduated from Camdenton High School and enlisted in the Navy. On October 11, 1953, he married his high school sweetheart, Frances Doll Bledsoe, who preceded him in death in 2004.

In 1964, he opened his service station known as Camden Shell, later changing it to Conoco, before retiring in 2005. Kenny loved to laugh and tell stories to make everyone laugh. He was an avid fisherman and outdoorsman. Later in life he enioyed sitting outside watching the wildlife, especially the birds that he fed everyday. He was truly a great dad, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend to all.

He never met a stranger. He will be missed by all those whom he touched. Kenny is survived by one son and one daughter, John Bledsoe and his wife, Anna of Camdenton, and Julie Bledsoe, also from Camdenton; five grandchildren, Dawn Bledsoe, Jacob Witt, Joseph Witt, Jordan Long and Adam Leavell; one greatgrandchild, Arianna Bledsoe; Shirley Umbarger, a very special friend of the family; along with several other relatives and many friends. Visitation will be held Tuesday, September 8, 2009, from 6 to 8 p.m., in Hedges-Scott Funeral Home, Camdenton, Missouri. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, September 9, at 10 a.m., in Hedges-Scott Funeral Home, in Camdenton.

Charles Edward Pollard Kenneth Elton Bledsoe Charles Edward "Ed" Pollard of Willow Springs passed away on Saturday, September 5, 2009, after a short illness, while in St. John's Hospital, in Springfield, Missouri.

Born on January 16, 1935, in Benton, Arkansas, to Harry and Mildred Gibson, he was 74 years old. Ed grew up in Rolla, Missouri, where he graduated from the Missouri School of Mines with a B.S. Degree in Civil Engineering. He proudly served his country in the US Army, where he was commissioned as a 2nd Lieutenant as an Army Engineer Officer. On June 6, 1959, in St.

Patrick's Catholic Church, in Rolla, Missouri, he married Marie Rose King. To this union, five children were born. Ed worked for over 42 years for the Missouri Highway Department as a highway designer, retiring in 1996. Ed was very active in the community of Willow Springs where he was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, singing in the choir and serving as a lecture. He was also a member and president of the Library Board, Pool Board, Airport Board, The Salvation tion Army, Knights of Columbus, MSM Alumni Association, ARMSE, and the Community Betterment Board.

He will be missed greatly by his family and all who knew He was preceded death by his parents; wife Marie Rose Pollard on July 27, 1994; and a son, David Pollard on June 6, 2002. Ed is survived by his children, Doug Pollard and his wife, Ann of Bowling Green, Kentucky, Bob Pollard and his wife, Amy of Willow Springs, Missouri, Donna Reid and her husband, Scott of Ozark, Missouri, and Beth Neathery of Springfield, Missouri. He is further survived by 10 grandchildren; and a sister, Mary Jane Dobson of Rolla, Missouri. A funeral mass will be held on Wednesday, September 9, 2009, at 10 a.m., in Sacred Heart Catholic Church, located on Business Highway in Willow Springs. The rosary will be recited on Tuesday, September 8, 2009, at 5:30 p.m., in Willow Funeral Home, located at 106 E.

Third Street, in Willow Springs, followed by a family from 6 to 8 p.m. Burial with military honors will follow Wednesday's service in Phelps County Cemetery, in Rolla. Remembrances may be made in Ed's name to the Salvation Army or the Willow Springs Library. Arrangements are under the direction of Willow Funeral Home. Wanda Lea Sharp Wanda Lea Sharp, 78, Springfield, passed away September 6, 2009, at 4:40 p.m., after a long illness.

Wanda was born in Centerville, lowa, to Aura and Loma Hungate, on March 11, 1931. She was a bowler and long-time employee of Sunshine Lanes Bowling Center as snack bar manager. She was a resident of Mercy Villa Nursing Home, where she enjoyed brandishing her water gun. She loved playing bingo, going fishing and had a windowsill full of Christmas Cacti. She was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Harold; her parents; three brothers; three sisters; and her grandson, Kyle Lenox.

She is survived by her five children, David Sharp and his wife, Becky of Bridge City, Texas, Linda Lenox, Peggy Wall and her husband, Jerry, Debbie Iseminger and her husband, Ron, and Ginny McNabb, all of Springfield, 15 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; one other sister, relatives Aileen and Pollock friends. of Tulsa, Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, September 9, 2009, in Herman H. Lohmeyer Funeral Home, 500 E. Walnut Street, with Rev.

NEWS-LEADER Cheryl Ann Posenke Emerson Cheryl Ann Posenke Emerson was born June 27, 1963, and passed away September 6, 2009, in Springfield, Mo.

She was the lovely wife of Trevor Emerson; daughter of Effalea Bridges and Floyd Posenke. Cheryl and her first husband, Greg Pratt, had a son, LtJG Gary C. Pratt of Norfolk, Va. She was the sister of Ned Posenke and aunt of Haily Posenke. Cheryl was a well known horse trainer and showed horses in this area as well as her father Floyd, and grandfather Ted Bridges.

Her memorial will be Tuesday, September 8, 2009, at 7 p.m., in Walnut Lawn Funeral Home Springfield, Mo. Cheryl's beautiful spirit will be missed by her family and many friends. A.C. Kennedy and Katie (Stroud) Kennedy. He was of the Methodist faith and in the first gradvating class at Parkview High School in Springfield. John served in the U.S. Navy.

Surviving are his two sisters, Ann Fender of Springfield, and Kay Tracy and husband, Harold of Springfield; one brother, Dean Kennedy of Michigan; uncle Charlie Stroud of aunt Opal Gossman of and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, in Preston- Funeral Home, Rogersville, with burial in Steward Cemetery, north of Fordland. Visitation will be from 7 to 8. p.m.
