"There Rose a Lamb" is the theme of the Easter celebration to be presented at 10:30 a.m. Sunday at Central Assembly of God, 1301 N. Boonville. The church also will dedicate a new carillon. Highlandville Assembly of God will have a sunrise worship at 6:30 am.

Rfjjibin Townsend Irwin died early Thursday after surgery for gunshot wounds, and prosecutors were awaiting reports before deciding whoffi'er to file charges against a rancher accused of shooting at sus-pecfiSl rustlers. Ottawa County Sheriff James "ECCWalker said rancher Doug Gibson was angry over four calves stolen a week ago and spent two nights hiding in his barn to catch the rustlers.

When two men got out of their truoVand crossed the fence onto his property, Gipson yelled a warning and fired three rounds from his shotgun, the sheriff said. Gipson's wife called 911, the sheriff said. Sheriffs deputies found another man, Daniel Wyrick, hiding beneath a bale of hay. Wyrick has been charged with theft of a domestic animal and is awaiting a preliminary hearing. He posted bond Friday.

Walker said Wyrick and Irwin told deputies they crossed onto the property because their pickup had overheated and they wanted to get some water from Gibson's pond. "But the radiator was full, the fan belt was tight there was no indication of that," Walker said. The students are participants of "Passport to Possibilities," the annual Modern Foreign Language Field Day sponsored by the college.
