Long, 84, Forsyth, died at 10:47 a.m. Sunday in his home In Forsyth. He had lived in the Kansas City, Mo. area until moving to Forsyth in 1957. While in Kansas City, he was part-owner of Long-Hall Laundry for 25 years which was the largest laundry and dry cleaning business In the midwest at that time.

Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Westside Christian Church, Republic, under direction of Greenlawn Funeral Home South.

Burial will be In Greenlawn Memorial Gardens under direction of Greenlawn Funeral Home North. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today In the funeral home. Battlefield or HOSPICE of Southwest Missouri, 3653 South Ave. Mary Ida Thompson CLEVER Mary Ida Thompson, 83, Clever, died at 4 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 29, in Greene Haven Nursing Home, Springfield. She was a homemaker and was of the Protestant faith.

She is survived by three sons, Bobby Gene Thompson, Carroll Wayne Thompson and Charles Edward Thompson; and a daughter, Betty Lou McCord, all of Clever; 15 grandchildren; 25 greatgrandchildren; and two nephews. Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday -in Meadors Chapel, Clever, with the Rev. Junior Swadley officiating. Burial will be in Frazier Cemetery, Boaz.

Visitation will be from 7 to 8 p.m. today in the funeral home. Robert Gene Tucker ROGERS, Ark. Robert Gene Tucker, formerly of Noel, died at 2 a.m. Monday, Nov.

30, 1992, In St. Mary's Hospital, Rogers. He was born Sept. 14, 1918, In Springfield, the son of Chauncev N. and Stella Crawford Tucker.

He was a veteran of World War II, where he served in the Atomic Bomb Engineers and later served in the Army Reserves, retiring as a Lt. Colonel. Dr. Tucker received his A.B. in 1940, from SMSU in Springfield, his M.S.

and Ph.D. from the University of Minnesota. His career was mainly spent In the pharmaceutical industry, retiring from Baxter Laboratories in Illinois and returning to Missouri in 1976. He was an active member of the Episcopal Church serving as a Lay Reader, Chalice Bearer and member of the choir. He served In the Boy Scouts as Scoutmaster for many years, presented 22 Eagle Scouts, and received many awards.

As a boy, he achieved the rank of Eagle Scout in Troop 18, Springfield. His interest In Genealogy led him Into membership In the Descendants of Washington's Army at Valley Forge, the Society of the War of 1812, the Aztec Club, the Jamestown Society, and the Sons of the American revolution where he served as Missouri State Genealogist for four years. He was a member of the Board of Trustees at Crowder College, He is survived by his wife, Margie Littlefield Tucker, of the home; three children, Curtis Gene and wife, Kathy Jo, Panaca, Todd Martin and wife, Cathy, Salt Lake City, Utah, and Monica Allsa Lou Jagel and husband, Mark, Clarendon Hills, as well five grandchildren; a sister, Marilyn Tucker Rohr, Springfield; a half-brother, Noland Stefan Tucker, Sedalia; and a half-sister, Nova Tucker Sudduth, Sedalia. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Dec.

2, 1992, in St. Nicholas Episcopal Church, Noel, with Father Jim Kauffman officiating. Burial will follow in Union Cemetery, Stella, Mo. Visitation will be from 4 to 6 p.m. today in Ozark Funeral Home, Noel, Mo.

29, 1992, in Webster, Texas. Mrs. Watkins was a resident of Springfield, for over 34 years. Survivors include a son, Billy L. Watkins, League City, Texas; two sisters, Ethel Hardison, Elkland, and Dorothy Fullerton, St.

-Paul, Calif1 a brother, Frank Hill, Springfield; four grandchildren, David Lee Watkins, Michael Allen Watkins, Elizabeth Kay Watkins, and Ross William Watkins; and three great-grandchildren, Benjamin David Watkins, Christopher Warren Watkins and Joshua Lee Watkins. Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday In Greenlawn Cemetery under direction of Greenlawn Funeral Home North, Springfield, Mo. field, Aug. 22, 1936.

He was a graduate of Senior High School and a veteran of the Korean Conflict. His entire life was spent In the Springfield construction business. He had an enthusiastic love for all sports, particularly golf. For several years, he devoted himself to coaching in the Kl-wanls Baseball and Mighty Mite Football programs. He was a member of Campbell United Methodist Church, Greene Hills Country Club, and was president of Eastgate Plaza, Inc.

He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Elsie Hibner Robbins; an infant daughter, Teresa; and a sister, Phyllis Middleton. He is survived by his wife, Wanda; four sons, Dennis, Tulsa, Michael and Timothy, both of Springfield, and Jeffrey, Rogersvllle; three daughters, Debra Parrish, Urbana, and Jill and Sheila, both of the home; two sisters, Opal Ray and Beverly Pate, both of Paramount, nine grandchildren, Dennis II, Shane, Brett, Dalton, Shannon, Brock, Justin and Kylle Robbins, and Devin Parrish; two nephews; three nieces; and several aunts; uncles; and cousins. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Ayre-Goodwin-Lee a Heritage Funeral Home with the Rev. Richard Blackmon officiating.

Thomas Russell REPUBLIC Ethel G. Thomas Russell, 91, Republic, passed away at 4:25 a.m. Sunday in Maranatha Manor, Springfield, after a short illness. She was born Oct. 19, 1900, the eldest daughter of Will and Lottie Thomas, West Plains.

Ethel was baptized into Christ as a teenager and was a charter member of Westside Christian Church, Republic She started as a teenager setting type in her uncle's job shop. She was employed for several years with the West Plains Journal and the Quill as a linotype operator and for a short time, was publisher of the weekly in Hartville. For several years, she worked as a linotype op 1907, In Springfield, Mo. He owned and operated the and Cafe in Fordland from 1946 to 1985. He was of the Baptist faith and a member of the Eagles Lodge.

He Is survived by four sons, Rev. Joseph Bertram Miller and wife, Annie, Republic, Elvis Ray "Buddy" Miller and wife, Darlene, Vista, Charles Eldon Miller and wife, Norma, Bois D'Arc, and Blllle Lee Miller and wife, Janice, Ozark; three daughters, Marian Walker and husband, Robert, Patty "Click" Pinto, and Janle Miller Hall, all of Springfield; a sister, Ethel Granstaff and husband, Earl, Marshall, 16 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday in Preston-Marsh Funeral Home, Rogersvllle, with the Rev. Bert Miller officiating.

Burial will be in Danforth Cemetery, Springfield. Visitation will be from 7 to 8:30 p.m. today In the funeral home. Hazel Laverne Ray Hazel Laverne Ray, bom May 10, 1921, in Wet Glaze, passed away Nov. 28, 1992, in Springfield, after a long illness.

Mrs. Rav had a great fondness for young children and was very active in Scouting. She retired from the United States Postal Service in Long Beach, as a mail clerk. After retirement she and some family members moved from Long Beach to Springfield, where she desired to spend her retirement years. She spent many years doing family genealogy research of which much was centered on the Ozarks.

Mrs. Ray was preceded in death by her husband, Howard; and a son, Bruce. She is survived by a sister; five sons; three daughters; 24 grandchildren; and nine greatgrandchildren. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Dec.

2, 1992, in Gorman-Scharpf Brentwood Chapel with interment in Hazelwood Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to The Kitchen. Elmer H. 'Sonny' Robbins Elmer H. "Sonny" Robbins, 56, Springfield, died at 9:15 p.m.

Saturday, Nov. 28, in his home after a two-year battle with pancreatic cancer. He was born in Spring Bertha Helen Evermon Bertha Helen Evermon, 96, Springfield, died at 1:51 a.m. Monday In Plantation Hills Nursing Home, Forsyth. Mrs.

Evermon was born March 9, 1896, In Des Moines, Iowa, to John and Mary Woolsev. She was preceded In death by her first husband, Norval C. Anderson; her second husband, Arthur Evermon; and a son, Norval J. Anderson. She Is survived by a daughter-in-law, Sara Anderson, Springfield; two grandsons, Tom Anderson and his wife, Alice, Branson, and Jerry Anderson, Kansas City; a granddaughter, Mary Henderson, Springfield; five great-grandchildren; and eight great-great-grandchildren.

Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday in Hazelwood Cemetery with the Rev. Don Calderwood officiating under direction of Herman Lohmeyer Funeral Home, 500 E. Walnut St. No visitation is Planned but friends may call between 2 to 6 p.m.

Wednesday in the funeral home. Harold M. Hanson Harold M. Hanson, 87, Springfield, died at 4:30 P.m. Sunday, Nov.

29, 1992, in Doctors Hospital. A native of Lanesboro, he had been a resident of Springfield over 30 years. Mr. Hanson was preceded in death by his first wife, Catherine; a daughter, Joan Hanson; and a step-son, Paul Tuter. He is survived by his wife of 24 years, Leona Hanson; four sons, Harold Hanson Curtis Hanson, Roger Hanson and Michael Hanson; a step-son, Norman Tuter; three step-daughters, Betty White, Dixie Stanton and Nancy Bennett; a sister, Agnes Johnson; a sister-in-law, Dodie Hanson; and a brother-in-law, Ray Price.

He is also survived by many loving grandchildren; great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews. Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Klingner Chapel with the Rev. Faust Matthews officiating. Burial will be In White Chapel Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 7 to 8 p.m. today in the mortuary. Richmond E. Leigh HAMILTON, Ala. Richmond E.

Leigh, 57, Hamilton, formerly of Springfield, died at 2:40 a.m. Sunday, Nov. 29, in Veterans Hospital, Fayetteville, after a long illness. He was a U.S. Navy veteran.

He is survived by his wife, June Leigh; two daughters, Michelle Renaee and (Catherine Ann Leigh, of the home; two brothers; and two sisters. Funeral services will be at 1 0 a.m. Wednesday in Klingner Chapel. Burial with military rites will be in Springfield National He served on the board of directors of Llnwood State Bank (now American Bank) of Kansas City from 1955-1975. Mr.

Long moved to Forsyth in 1957 and purchased the Ranch Motel and adjoining land. He was co-owner of Moore and Son Realty and later moved his real estate office to Branson and began a real estate partnership with Les Hagee in Branson. In 1966, Mr. Long became the chairman of the Taney County Republican Committee and served In that capacity for many years. Voter registration in Taney County came into being in 1967 through Mr.

Long's efforts. From 1967 to 1975 he was mayor of Forsyth and was instrumental in bringing the commodity program to Taney County. During his term as mayor, the Pioneer Homestead in Shadow Rock Park was erected and many area residents participated in this prolect. Mr. Long was a member of the Blue Lodge Scottish Rite and the Shrine for over 50 years.

He was also a member of the Community Presbyterian Church of Forsyth. In his later years, Mr. Long enjoyed spending his time playing golf with his family and friends in Forsyth and Branson. He is survived by his wife, Dr. Mary Long, of the home; two sons, Robert A.

Long, Manilla, Phillipines, and Charles King, Flint, four daughters, Pat Wood, Coraopolis, Adele King, Tahlequah, Margie King Berry and Judy King Cotter, both of Forsvth; 1 1 grandchildren; and two great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday in Kissee Mortuary and Chapel In Forsyth with the Rev. Larry Porter officiating. Burial will be in Ozarks Memorial Park Cemetery near Branson.

Box 701, Forsyth, MO 65653. Elvis 'Dick' Miller FORDLAND Elvis "Dick" Miller, 85, Ford-land, died at 6:52 a.m. Sunday, Nov. 29, in St. John's Regional Health Center, Springfield.

He was born Jan. 26, Ernest A. Sorbo Rev. Ernest A. Sorbo, 75, Springfield, died Sunday, Nov.

29, 1992, in Cox Medical Center North after an apparent heart attack. Born Oct. 5, 1917, in New Castle, Ernest was one of fifteen children. Early in life he came to know the Lord, Jesus Christ, as his personal Savior and enrolled in Central Bible Institute, Springfield. It was here, he met and married Phyllis G.

Dilks on July 11, 1942. Mrs. Sorbo preceded him in death June 21, 1989. The Sorbos pastored churches in Missouri and Pennsylvania. On July 19, 1951, the Sorbos received missionary appointment with the General Council of the Assemblies of God.

For over 30 years, they served in India. Evangelism and New Church plantings were priorities as well as teaching in two bible schools. They served as instructors at Southern Asia Bible College in Bangalore, India, and the Trlvandrum, South India Evangelistic Center was erected under their leadership. It was a great day in 1975, when this new facility opened. Since retirement in 1983, the Sorbos have GIFT OF Bonnie Ann Birt Teghtmyer Bonnie Ann Birt Teghtmyer, 63, Springfield, died at 5 a.m.

Saturday, Nov. 28, In her home. Bonnie was bom June 3, 1929, in Ottawa, the daughter of Edwin and Axcie Birt. She attended Ottawa and To-peka public schools, as well as Washburn College. Bonnie had lived in Springfield for the past 35 years, where she was both a homemaker and a medical transcriptionist.

She is survived by her mother, Axcie; her husband, Donald Teghtmyer; a daughter, Lee Ann; a son, Daniel, and his wife, Deborah; and two grandchildren, Nicole and Carl, all of Springfield.
