Jean Schad Jean Schad went home to be with her Lord Monday morning at Cox South Medical Medical Center following a brief illness. She died with her family at her side, providing them with inspiring glimpses of the glorious hereafter that awaited her. Born at King's Prairie, near Verona, on September 20, 1928, to Fred and Laura Weber, Jean lived her entire life in the Monett-Purdy Monett-Purdy Monett-Purdy area. Prior to marrying Alvin Schad of Purdy on April 30, 1955, and becoming a housewife housewife and mother, Jean worked as a bookkeeper at Monett.'s Farmers' Exchange. Jean was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church at Stone's Prairie, where she was active in Lutheran Women's Women's Missionary League. She also had a great many friends at the Monett Senior Citizen's Center. Jean was a regular attendee for more than a decade, decade, and she also served there as a volunteer. She is survived by her husband husband of 49 years, Alvin Schad; two children, Dennis Schad and Barbara George of Springfield; a son-in-law, son-in-law, son-in-law, son-in-law, son-in-law, Charlie "Rich" George of Springfield; and Lila Schad of Springfield, her sister. Also surviving here are three grandchildren and five greatgrandchildren. greatgrandchildren. Visitation is scheduled for Wednesday from 7 to 8 p.m. Funeral services services will be held Thursday at 10:30 a.m. at St. John's Lutheran Lutheran Church in Stone's Prairie with burial to follow in the church cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests requests donations in Jean's memory be made to the church cemetery's perpetual care fund.
